Nanexa AB signs agreement with Scienta Sensor Systems AB

For a number of years, Nanexa has fabricated aluminum oxide coatings on details in Scienta Sensor Systems’ equipment for continuous xenon measurement in the atmosphere. The equipment, operating throughout the globe, is used to detect traces of nuclear weapons blasts with the United Nations agency The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) as its chief.

The companies have now agreed to formalize the cooperation with a three-year agreement where it is described that Nanexa will provide coating services.

Nanexa’s CEO David Westberg comments

The agreement that has now been signed with Scienta Sensor Systems AB formalizes the division of responsibilities between the companies and ensures continued order intake for coating sensors, which we think is important. It also contributes revenue to the company, although these are limited in scope. The technology used to produce alumina coatings is called Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and through our collaboration with Scienta Sensor Systems AB we position ourselves on the world map as a leading player in ALD.

ALD is also the technology we use in our focus area – the drug delivery system PharmaShell® and experience from the collaboration with Scienta Sensor Systems gives us knowledge that is used to develop PharmaShell®.
