Controlled Release for Simpler Treatment

PharmaShell® is Nanexa’s proprietary drug delivery platform for long-acting injectable medicines. The platform is based on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), in which particles of active pharmaceutical ingredient are coated with an ultra-thin and dense inorganic shell. By tailoring the composition and thickness of the coating, we can achieve a controlled drug release from our products.

Following injection, the coated particles form a depot at the injection site. As the coating gradually dissolves, the active pharmaceutical ingredient is released in a controlled manner. PharmaShell® can therefore enable longer dosing intervals and more stable drug exposure. Fewer administration occasions may simplify treatment, reduce treatment burden and improve the conditions for patient adherence.
